Free Online Companion Website:  Visit this website for lots of extra quizzes, tests and more!

Performance Ed. Teaching Tests:  These are the “mother of all tests.”   I call them “teaching tests” because even if you don’t know much about the subject matter, you will learn a lot just by working through them in order.  Use a 3 x 5 card to cover the answers and work through them section by section.  DO NOT write on them because you will want to repeat these tests more than once!  Because they are quite long, you might want to print them on scratch paper or print them side by side so you don’t use up too much printer ink and paper.  They are important though as they review tons of facts for the CLEP!

1. Colonial Period Test

2. American Revolution test

3. U.S. Constitution test

4. Early Republic Test

5. Growth & Conflict test

6. Civil War test

7. Industrial Age test

Annenberg Learner videos:  Excellent PBS series that review U.S. History in 30 minute sessions.  A Biography of America presents history not simply as a series of irrefutable facts to be memorized, but as a living narrative.
